Premature Ejaculation

Premature ejaculation is a condition in which ejaculation occurs either before the intercourse or immediately after its start. This condition is also considered to be erectile dysfunction.

Who suffers from premature ejaculation?

Teenagers who start sexual life are more prone to this form of erectile dysfunction. This ED occurs due to overexcitation and high sensitivity of the glans, therefore ejaculation often comes either before the introduction of the penis into the vagina, or just a few frictions afterwards. Most often it passes quickly with gained experience in sexual life, but sometimes persists for a longer time.

Premature ejaculation rarely happens in mature men. It is usually caused by other reasons.

All causes of premature ejaculation can be divided into two groups:

• physiological, which are associated with health problems or peculiarities of the structure / functioning of the organs
• psychological

There are two physiological reasons: increased sensitivity of the glans and chronic vesiculitis. The increased sensitivity of the glans is the most common reason of such erectile dysfunction as premature ejaculation. Such a case of premature ejaculation is characterized by:

• duration of sexual intercourse is always about the same
• most often, the premature ejaculation accompanies a man for all his life
• duration of sexual intercourse with condom is significantly longer than without one The same applies to the artificial lubrication
• ejaculation never comes before the sexual intercourse, except the moment when a condom is put on
• consuming a small amount of alcohol significantly increases the duration of sexual intercourse

The most effective way to treat this type of erectile dysfunction is genital mutilation. This operation removes the foreskin, leaving the glans in constant contact with the underwear. As a rule, after such an operation the duration of the sexual intercourse is increased 2 to 3 times.

If the sensitivity of the glans penis was associated with phimosis or balanoposthitis, then the operation is almost the only way to solve the problem. If for some reasons a man does not want to be circumcised, he can continue to use lubricants or spray with the anesthetic lidocaine. It's not very convenient but it allows to have a normal sexual life and eliminate the erectile dysfunction problems.

 

Chronic Vesiculitis and Premature Ejaculation

Vesiculitis is an inflammation of the seminal vesicles which are located behind the prostate and accumulate the sperm. At ejaculation, the seminal vesicles decrease and their content gets into the back part of the urethra.

Vesiculitis never develops without prostatitis, an inflammation of the prostate gland. In vesiculitis, the walls of the seminal vesicles are more sensitive, and even a light sexual stimulation may cause them to contract and start ejaculating.

Premature ejaculation caused by vesiculitis is characterized by the following:

• periods of normal duration of sexual intercourse are mixed with periods of erectile dysfunction in form of premature ejaculation
• premature ejaculation develops gradually. Before, a man usually does not experience problems in the sexual life and has no erectile dysfunction
• ejaculation can occur before the intercourse and stimulation of the glans penis
• the second and subsequent sexual intercourses are usually much longer than the first one
• the feeling of orgasm is fuzzy, the sexual act can not bring satisfaction, and ejaculation may be painful
• using a condom and artificial lubricants has no effect on the duration of the sexual intercourse. Special condoms and lubricants with anesthetics also do not change the situation.

 

Psychogenic Form of Premature Ejaculation

The most common psychological causes of erectile dysfunction is overexcitation. It is more relevant to boys and young men who recently became sexually active, but also occurs among the very mature and experienced men. In a very strong sexual arousal, the tension in the relevant section of the cerebral cortex grows rapidly which leads to the quick onset of ejaculation and orgasm.

A more rare variant of the psychological causes of premature ejaculation is fear of sexual intercourse. For example, sexual intercourse takes place in an unsafe or noisy environment (outdoors, in a car, etc.). In such a situation a man can rush to finish the sexual intercourse and accelerate ejaculation that may lead to erectile dysfunction.

The main characteristics of the psychogenic form of premature ejaculation are:

• beginning of the sexual life
• rare, irregular sexual life
• duration of the sexual intercourse may vary widely
• duration of the sexual intercourse may be different with different partner
• the second sexual intercourse is often not possible due to the lack of erection
• premature ejaculation often occurs simultaneously with the erectile problems (erectile dysfunction)
• a small amount of alcohol usually dramatically improves the situation
• sometimes, to increase the duration of the sexual intercourse, thoughts on abstract themes (often about any unpleasant things) may help. Sometimes these thoughts lead to the lack of erection and, as a result, to erectile dysfunction.

Usually the psychological problems with ejaculation are quickly resolved with age and experience in the sexual life. But sometimes they can grow over time, making men sexually impotent. In this case, the premature ejaculation is usually accompanied with erectile dysfunction and sometimes with delayed ejaculation.
